Brief Description

Kidz R Us was established in 2002 when Diane Dann, one of our founders, was approached by a few children requesting her to organise dance classes and help them develop their skills in stage performances. Diane agreed and the classes began with only three children. It was not later than a couple of months that the membership sprung from 3 to 120. The organisation expanded and went on to add other aspects of performances such as technical theatre

Vision & Mission

Our growth has remained constant and we now have 500 children per week using our premises. We offer a range of recreational and fun activities to our children inside our premises. Some of our students who are over 12 years of age are trained to teach other students, thereby honing their own skills as well. 

We are proud to say that we are one of the seven centres in Wales, who have won the prestigious Sports Leaders Teaching Certificate

Aims & Activities

Kidz R Us is a non-profit, self-funding social community enterprise, which teaches performing arts (primarily, street dancing, drama and singing) to the children of Tredegar and the surrounding areas in South East Wales. We host activities for more than 500 disadvantaged children every week

Facts & Figures

                            We teach all the skills needed for an all-round performance. Our children have performed all over the country and abroad. We also run numerous social clubs. We train our own teachers; most of whom went to stage schools or universities to study further within the teaching profession or performing arts. We support the government by training people who are unemployed, teaching them skills and instilling in them the confidence to re-enter employment.
