Brief Description

We seek to tackle food poverty by collecting surplus food items from private sector partners and redistributing to people living below the poverty line in Liverpool City Region.
Working alongside partners such as Costco, KFC, Sainsbury's, United Biscuits, Saka and Home Bargains, our service is currently helping to feed around 2,500 people each month and continues to gain positive media attention locally and regionally.

THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY IN LIVERPOOL BY PROVIDING FOOD ITEMS TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED AND/OR CHARITIES, OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PREVENT POVERTY.

Aims & Activities

The principal activity of the charity is the provision of food for homeless individuals.

Facts & Figures

                            We collect surplus food items from large private sector suppliers and redistribute them to people that live below the poverty line in Liverpool City Region. Items include fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, cakes, pastries and dried snacks.
All food items are collected in our refrigerated vehicle and transported straight to the intended beneficiary.
Although the Charity was formed in 2016, the service has actually been running since 2012 as an extension of our Community Interest Company, Progressive Lifestyle Solutions.
                            

                            In short, we support organisations whose beneficiaries are identified as living in poverty. 
These include local schools, community centres, a Children's Hospital, local church groups and food banks. 
The service we offer is slightly different from a traditional food bank inasmuch as goods provided are, in large part, fresh and perishable items. This supplements much of the great work that ordinary food banks are doing.
