Brief Description

The Suzy Lamplugh Trust is the UK’s pioneering personal safety charity and leading stalking authority. Our vision is a society in which people are safer and feel safer from violence and aggression, so they can live life to the full. The Trust was founded by Diana and Paul Lamplugh following the disappearance of their daughter Suzy in 1986. We do our work through educating, campaigning and supporting people to be aware of the risks in their everyday lives and take steps to avoid or manage them. The Trust trains thousands of people every year in the workplace, across a range of sectors and settings, through its social enterprise business.  We also run the National Stalking Helpline supporting over 3000 victims of stalking every year. Stalking has been a key issue in our work from the outset after the realisation that Suzy herself had been stalked. Alongside the National Stalking Helpline, we have also been successful in campaigning for several changes to the law on stalking.

Vision & Mission

TO EDUCATE AND TRAIN MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC IN ALL ASPECTS OF VIOLENCE AND AGGRESSION IN SOCIETY WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THEIR PLACE OF WORK, IN METHODS OF SECURITY, THEIR PERSONAL SAFETY AND IN MANAGING AND AVOIDING VIOLENCE, AGGRESSION AND TENSI,ON WITHIN THEMSELVES AND OTHERS. TO PROVIDE COUNSELLING AND SUPPORT TO THE RELATIVES AND FRIENDS OF MISSING PERSONS IN NEED THEREOF.

Aims & Activities

1 To raise awareness of the importance of personal safety and to provide solutions that effect change in order to help people to avoid violence and agression and live safer, more confident lives.
2.  To educate and train members of the public in all aspects of violence and aggression in society with particular reference to their place of work.

Facts & Figures

                            CAMPAIGN
We campaign to raise awareness of personal safety and stalking issues, demanding systematic change where needed, which has been pivotal to changes in legislation and practice nationally.  
EDUCATE 
We work across sectors to deliver personal safety training to help staff assess, mitigate and manage risks at work. We also deliver bespoke stalking training, which covers what constitutes stalking and harassment, prosecution and management of stalkers.   
SUPPORT
National Stalking Helpline Advice and Advocacy Service – we support victims of stalking by providing crisis support, and risk management. 
Multi-agency Stalking Interventions Programme – this pilot, in partnership with the police and health services, in Cheshire, Hampshire and London, aims to manage stalking perpetrator behaviours, using interventions that address their fixation and obsessive conduct.
                            

                            We help individuals across the UK to be and feel safer regardless of age, gender, geographical location, language or any other socio-economic or demographic factor. 

Every year we work with: 
•	Directly, over 3000 victims of stalking directly 
•	Indirectly, over 6000 individuals impacted by stalking
•	Over 5000 individuals are trained through our lone working and stalking awareness training 
•	Government MPs and individuals across the government to lobby and campaign for change
