Brief Description

CRY-Child Rights and You UK (uk.cry.org) is a non-profit that believes every child regardless of gender, caste or economic status has the right to survival, protection, development and participation-thus a childhood. CRY UK exists today - to amplify the voice of children . We believe that children are citizens in their own right, entitled to the full spectrum of human rights. We do not believe in charity. Nor do we run schools, orphanages or hospitals. We partner with grassroots-level NGOs in India working with children, their parents and communities. We believe,  that every child, regardless of birth and circumstances is truly equal. That we realize the policies and the everyday choices we make, must seek to address the root causes of children’s problems not just their superficial manifestations.

1) Generating awareness about the problems faced by disadvantaged children. 2) Raising funds to support disadvantaged children from individual, corporate & by organising fund raising events.

Facts & Figures

                            CRY's role is that of an enabler between two groups of people – the development organisations working for child rights at the grassroots level and people like you, who come together for child rights.  Our efforts are to ensure that children from vulnerable communities have basic rights of Survival, development, protection and participation.he initiatives we support work at the grassroots-level to restore the basic rights of children, including street children, the girl child, children bonded in labour, children of commercial sex workers etc. We work closely with CRYIndia who has in the last 4 decades impacted the lives of over 3 million children across 23 states of India.
                            

                            We support small NGO's working with marginalized communities and our programs are specifically aimed at benefitting children of these communities.  Currently  CRYUK is supporting 4 projects in India.  In the last year  28,583 children were impacted through these initiatives ,  17,823 children in these intervention areas in the age group of 6-18 years are in school, 85%Children in intervention areas under the age of 1 year were immunized ,1974 Children in intervention areas, under the age of 5 years, covered under growth monitoring 128 Children collectives have been formed in the intervention areas.  These children collectives enable the project team to interact with the children and understand the issues facing them.
